Description

Washington Park is a park on the South Side of Chicago. It was designed by Olmsted and Vaux, who created New York City's Central Park. Originally, the park had many attractions, including horse racing, ponds, sheep, archery areas, and a golf course. Today, it's home to several National Historic Landmarks, including the DuSable Museum of African-American History, a National Guard Armory, and the stables for Chicago Police Department horses.
