McKinely Morganfield, known by his stage name Muddy Waters, was a father of the Chicago style of blues. His use of electrical amplification is often pointed to as the bridge between southern blues and rock n' roll. He freqently spent time in Maxwell Street Market, and Rollin' Stone was one of his signature songs.

This version of Bugle Call Rag was recorded by George Wettling's Chicago Rhythm Kings. George Wettling was a white Chicago native who was inspired by King Oliver's jazz band, which performed in Chicago in the 1920s. Wettling was a jazz drummer who toured and performed with a number of groups. 

Bugle Call Rag is a staple of jazz repertoire, and was first recorded by the New Orleans Rhythm Kings in the 1920s.
