The Best is Yet to Come

Boxing also played a role in the life of Frank Sinatra, whose father was a bantemweight boxer in Hoboken, NJ.  While primarily associated with NYC, Sinatra got his major singing break when in 1938 he contracted with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra who had a standing show at the Palmer House.  Years later after attaining stardom, Sinatra would return to his roots and perform his major 1964 hit, "Fly Me to the Moon", in the Palmer House's Empire Room.
